Our LED Strategic Plan is currently in the process of being developed and will be placed on our Website soon.

LED VISION

To grow a vibrant economy that will attract investment, create employment and enhance the quality of life of our inhabitants.

LED MISSION

Camdeboo Municipality needs to create an enabling environment for economic growth, investment attraction, enterprise development and retention and this must happen in terms of a strategic approach with sustainable, measurable results that will make a meaningful and positive impact on the lives of our people.

The 2nd Provincial LED Conference took place in Graaff-Reinet from 18 - 20 March 2009.  The main thrust of the programme was "Partnerships for inclusive LED".   Topics were relevent to the local situation and some valuable lessons were learnt from a presentation given by Maura Walsh from Duhallow in Ireland.

Camdeboo Municipality was the proud host of the Karoo Development Conference & Trade Fair, which was held in Graaff-Reinet on 25 - 27 March 2009.  This Conference, the first of its kind in South Africa, was a huge success, with a full programme of diverse topics that were presented by speakers from as far afield as Australia.  For more information visit their website  http://karoospace.co.za/conference

The International Mohair Summit initiated by Ikwezi Municipality and scheduled to take place in Graaff-Reinet during November 2009, is taking shape.  More details will be provided as soon as they become available.  Watch this space!

These events generate major spin-offs for Graaff-Reinet and surrounding towns.  The two Conferences brought socio-economic specialists, academics, high-ranking officials, politicians and other dignatories to the Camdeboo.   Small and large enterprise were provided with a fantastic opportunity to showcase their unique Karoo products and potential, thereby creating interest in and attracting investment to our area and the Karoo as a whole.
